English Premier League Top Four Race

Premier League Top 4 Race – Things are Heating up after Man Utd Draw

The title race in the English Premier League is long over after Liverpool secured their historic title after 30 years. But there are still a few questions that need answering before the end of the league. One of them is the final top 4 of the Premier League which will secure them entrance to the next year’s Champions League.

Liverpool is first, and Manchester City is the runner up. But which are the two remaining teams going to be?

The battle is tenser than ever with Chelsea, Leicester, Manchester United, and Wolves all in the mix.

Chelsea

The Blues of London currently has the most favorable position as they are comfortably sitting on the third spot with a four-point cushion. However, they are at the same time the team with the worst possible schedule.

The first one is the most difficult as they are facing Manchester United in an away game. The second one comes against Liverpool, also away, while the last ones are against Wolverhampton at home.

All in all, defeating the Red Devils will no doubt secure them a spot in the top four.

Leicester City

The Foxes have been playing atrocious football after the continuation of the Premier League. They were already seen as a top-four team but somehow they managed to blow everything up. Now they have to dig deep to bring the season to an end which started off as quite a successful one.

Leicester still needs to face Sheffield United and Tottenham, but the hardest test comes against Manchester United in the last fixture of the season.

The Foxes definitely can’t really on the final game as a way out.

Manchester United

As opposed to Leicester, the Red Devils have been on a tear after the Premier League continued this season. They have been outhustling and outplaying opponents and have been scoring goals left and right. Solskjaer’s side has never looked better this season and they probably have the best odds of reaching the top four if they continue playing as they had.

The only mark on their recent performance was a last-minute draw against Southampton. However, they still have chances to get to their goal and they can do so with victories over direct rivals – Chelsea and Leicester.

Wolverhampton

The Wanderers are the surprise team of this year’s Premier League and they will be content with a Europa League place as well. However, there is still a chance that they might finish in the top four. Although much slimmer than the others.

The Wolves have two games left, versus Crystal Palace and Chelsea. They are entering as heavy favorites against the Glaziers but will face an uphill battle against the very motivated Chelsea team.

With a leg down and three points less than Man Utd and Leicester, chances are that the Wolves remain outside the top four. But it ain’t over until the fat lady sings and the Wolves are fully aware of it.
