Zambia took a deserved lead on 18 minutes when James Chamanga and Jacob Mulenga combined well for the latter to slide a shot under Tunisian keeper Aymen Mathlouthi.

The Carthage Eagles equalised five minutes before half-time, Zouheir Dhaouadhi converting from close range after fine work down the left by Yousef Msakni.

Both sides came close in the second half. Tunisia’s Yassin Mikari struck a post on 47 minutes and Zambia’s Christopher Katongo headed over late on.
