Wigan Athletic 2-1 West BromA brilliant come back late in the second half by Wigan Athletic saw them claim all three points against West Bromwich Albion in their Premier League meeting on Saturday. Facing a must win match after sliding to the bottom of the league table, West Brom almost took an early lead when James Morrison curled in a free kick and Ishmael Miller was just inches away from converting the chance. Wigan should have had taken the lead in the 7th minute when Emile Heskey flicked the ball on for Henri Camara but the striker somehow managed to miss the target from just four yards out. Heskey had another great chance to break the deadlock but the England international headed his ball wide from six yards out. West Brom finally broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half when Miller latched on to a defensive error by Titus Bramble before slotting the ball past Chris Kirkland to score West Brom's first goal in four matches. Wigan stepped up the pressure in search of an equalizer and were rewarded in the 61st minute when Paul Robinson flicked the ball for keeper Scott Carson but Camara was quick to spot the error and was left with a simple finish. With time running out, Wigan wrapped up the victory three minutes from the final whistle when Emmerson Boyce headed home Jason Koumas's corner from 12 yards to collect all three points for his side.
