Wigan Athletic 1-1 Tottenham HotspurTottenham Hotspur dropped two more points as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Wigan Athletic in their Premiership clash on Saturday.
Tottenham had taken an early lead in the 6th minute through Dimitar Berbatov but Wigan struck back quickly to equalize through Emile Heskey six minutes later and almost claimed all three points but Marcus Bent only managed to hit the post.
After a quiet opening, Tottenham took the lead in the 6th minute when Aaron Lennon raced down the right wing before finding Berbatov with a perfect cross and the Bulgarian international made no mistake from close range.
The visitors looked to be taking control of the match with Lennon in particular proving dangerous on the right wing. However Spurs allowed their opposition to come back into the match once again this season as Wigan were back on level terms in the 12th minute.
Heskey found himself with the ball inside the Tottenham penalty area and though the striker's first touch was a bit heavy, the Spurs' defense failed to deal with the danger and Heskey slammed home after a neat turn.
Both the teams settled down in the second half though Wigan went closest to taking the lead when Bent was played in by Wilson Palacios but the striker was only able to hit the post from close range.
