Prolific striker Luis Suarez opened his World Cup account to ensure Uruguay topped Group A ahead of their Mexico opponents.

He converted Edinson Cavani’s right-wing cross late in the first-half after Mexico’s Andres Guardardo struck the underside of the crossbar with a magnificent 30-yard drive which just bounced out.
