Tottenham 0-0 FulhamFulham continued their string of good performances with a vital point away to Tottenham Hotspur in their Boxing Day clash at White Hart Lane. Pressure was high on Tottenham Hotspur to produce a win after the club had failed to score a goal in their last two matches. However with no real threat up front, it was always a tough task to break down a stubborn Fulham defense that had conceded just one goal in their last five matches. The visitors were happy to play out for a draw and rarely ventured forward, relying on quick counter attacks to create their chances. David Bentley and Aaron Lennon went close to breaking the deadlock in the first half but were denied by some good saves by keeper Mark Schwarzer. It was more of the same in the second half, with Fulham restricting the hosts to long range attempts though Luka Modric should have had scored with his header after Benoit Assou-Ekotto had done well to find the midfielder with a perfect cross. Fulham's only effort on the target for most of the second half came from a free kick that saw Paul Konchesky curl the ball wide of the target. However with just minutes remaining on the clock, the visitors almost snatched a win when Andy Johnson raced clear of the Spurs defense but keeper Heurelho Gomes pulled off a brilliant save to deny the striker.
