Real Madrid 2-1 Werder BremenThe score line doesn’t really do justice to the way Real Madrid controlled this game from the beginning and could have had a few more goals had it not been for some disappointing finishing in front of goal. Both sides started the game knowing how important the result of this live football match would be and were happy to probe each others defences. That is until Van Nistelroy provided Raul a cross which allowed the forward to head the ball into the German sides net, past Time Wiese and take the lead on 16. Unfortunately for the Real Madrid players, they were still celebrating the lead when Werder Bremen Dusko Tosic fired in a cross into the Spanish team’s penalty area for their striker Boubacar Sanogo to stretch out his boot and steer the ball into the Madrid net for a very quick equaliser. After the shock of the equaliser sank in to the Real Madrid team they carried on trying to convert the many chances they were making without much success. After the break the entertainment continued for those who came to watch champions league football as Rudd Van Nistelrooy scorned several great chances when it seemed he was sure to score. He eventually managed to convert one of his many chances when he was put through on goal by Raul and cleverly sent Tim Wiese the wrong way before placing the ball in the corner of the visitors net. It was no more than they deserved and in all honesty the result never looked in doubt once they had scored the second goal. They now occupy top spot in group C and can now look forward to the trip to Lazio in a few weeks time. Tags: Real Madrid, Werder Bremen, watch champions league, Rudd Van Nistelrooy Posted: |
