Benin were two-up through a penalty and an own goal. Razak Omotoyossi slammed home a 15^th minute penalty after goalkeeper Rafael had fouled him in the box. And Dario Khan toe-poked the ball past his own keeper five minutes later.

Lobo headed one back for Mozambique on 29 minutes and equalised on 54 minutes when Benin keeper Yoann Djidonou was caught out of position by a quick throw-in, allowing Carlos Goncalves to fire home.
