Middlesbrough 1-2 West Ham

Scott Parker grabbed an injury time winner to propel West Ham United to a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough in their Premiership clash on Saturday.

Boro had looked set for a third consecutive victory when David Wheater had put his side in the lead five minutes before half time. However Dean Ashton's strike ensured that Alan Curbishley's side went into the half on level terms before Parker scored his first goal for West Ham in the dying seconds of the match.

Boro dominated the possession early on in the first half and looked the more likely of the two teams to take the lead. West Ham were struggling to impose their authority on the pitch as Sanli Tuncay continued his good form with another impressive performance up front.

The hosts took a deserved lead in the 40th minute when Jeremie Aliadiere headed Stewart Downing's free kick into the path of an onrushing Wheater who made no mistake in converting his chance from close range.

The goal seemed to have awaken the West Ham players as the visitors pressed forward in search on an equalizer and were rewarded four minutes later when Camara found Ashton with a great lay-off and the England striker smashed the ball past Mark Schwarzer and into the bottom corner of the net.

Neither of the teams were able to dominate the second half with the best chance falling to Nolberto Solano whose curling free kick was saved brilliantly by Schwarzer. With time ticking way it looked as if both the teams would have to share the points.

However Parker had other ideas as he took possession of the ball outside the penalty area and dribbled past the Boro defense before unleashing a great shot past Schwarzer to score his first goal for Hammers and grab all three points for the club.
