Manchester United 2-0 BlackburnManchester United returned back to their winning ways with an efficient performance in the 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers in their Premier League live clash on Sunday.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in two first half minutes as Blackburn struggled to get back in the game, leaving the defending champions comfortable victors in the end. The visitors were reduced to 10 men when David Dunn was shown a second yellow card 8 minutes into the second half.
Both the teams created a host of chances early on in the game as Carlos Tevez saw two of his shots saved by Brad Friedel and Ryan Nelsen while Ronaldo saw his shot cleared off the line by David Bentley. At the other end Christopher Samba came closest to scoring for Blackburn when his shot cannoned off the cross bar.
The hosts took the lead in the 34th minute when Ronaldo leapt up to meet Ryan Giggs' corner to head home his team's first goal of the match. The Portuguese winger doubled the lead a minute later when Tevez found Ronaldo with a perfect cross with the outside of his boot and the 22-year old was left with a simple finish past Friedel.
Samba had another chance to score a goal for Blackburn but Edwin Van der Sar was equal to the task. Any chance of a Blackburn comeback in the second half was quashed when Dunn was shown a second yellow card for tackle on Louis Saha in the 53rd minute as United played out the final minutes to grab a deserved victory.
