Manchester City 4-2 Bolton WanderersManchester City maintains their 100 percent home record with another clinical performance in their 4-2 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
City had taken an early lead through Rolando Bianchi in the 7th minute but Bolton fought back well to first equalize through El-Hadji Diouf and take the lead with a Kevin Nolan strike just before half time. However an own goal by Lubomir Michalik saw City equalize early in the second half and goals from Darius Vassell and Kelvin Etuhu put the result beyond Bolton's reach.
City took the lead in the 7th minute thanks to a defensive mistake by Ricardo Gardner that allowed Vassell to take control of the ball and drive it towards the target. Though Jussi Jaaskelainen managed to block the shot, the ball found its way to an unmarked Bianchi who made no mistake from six yards out.
The hosts pressed forward in search of a second goal but it was Bolton who equalized in the 31st minute when Diouf found Kevin Davies on the right wing with a superb ball before slotting home the cross from close range.
Nine minutes later, Bolton took the lead when Nolan latched on to Gardner's square ball before smashing it past Andreas Isaksson with the outside of his right foot. But the lead lasted just eight minutes when Man City drew level three minutes into the second half with Lubomir Michalik diverting Dietmar Hamann's shot into his own net.
The hosts deservedly took the lead 13 minutes before the final whistle when Vassell poked in Martin Petrov's cross and substitute Etuhu completed the proceedings with a simple tap-in in the final minutes of the match. Tags: Manchester City, Rolando Bianchi, Ricardo Gardner, Man City Posted: |
