Manchester City 2-3 Fulham

Fulham refused to give up their hopes of avoiding the relegation as they collected all three points in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Manchester City on Saturday.

Manchester City looked on course for their third straight league win after they took a comfortable 2-0 lead in the first half through goals from Stephen Ireland and Benjani but a remarkable come back by Fulham saw them equalize through Diomansy Kamara and Danny Murphy before Kamara grabbed a vital winner in the final minute of the match.

Fulham needed to win both of their remaining two matches if they are to have any hopes of avoiding relegation and the Cottagers created early chances but were unable to put them away. City held out under the early pressure before taking the lead in the 10th minute through Ireland whose curling shot beat Kasey Keller in the Fulham goal.

It looked game over for Fulham 11 minutes later when Benjani slid in to convert Darius Vassell's square pass to double the lead. David Healy and Jimmy Bullard had good chances of scoring a goal for Fulham but Joe Hart was looking at the top of his form as he pulled off brilliant saves to deny the Cottagers.

Fulham finally managed to break through the City defense in the 70th minute when Murphy found Kamara with a perfect long ball and the striker managed to smash the ball between Hart's legs to grab one back for his side.

Fulham had a great chance to equalize nine minutes later when Sun Jihai was adjudged to have fouled Eric Nevland in the penalty area and though Murphy missed his chance from the spot, he was quick to react to the rebound to pull his side back on level terms.

With time running out, Fulham completed an amazing come back in injury time when Kamara raced forward to slot home at the near post to bag all three points for his side.
