Liverpool 3-0 West BromLiverpool bounced back from their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in a convincing fashion as they secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over West Brom on Saturday.
Robbie Keane was on target for the first time in the Premier League since his move from Tottenham in the summer as the Republic of Ireland striker scored a brace in the first half to put in his in a comfortable position at half time while Alvaro Arbeloa completed the proceedings with a goal in the final minute of the match.
Liverpool's defeat to Tottenham saw them surrender their position at the top of the league table and manager Rafa Benitez was expecting a positive response from his side as he looked to keep in touch with Chelsea.
Keane had a great chance to break his league duck for Liverpool early in the game but the striker only managed to hit the ball straight to Scott Carson after being played through by Javier Mascherano.
The Republic of Ireland striker finally managed to hit the back of the net in the league when Steven Gerrard released the forward with a brilliant through ball and Keane made no mistake from close range.
There was more joy for Keane in the 43rd minute as he controlled Fabio Aurelio's cross superbly to beat Carson before slotting the ball into an empty net. Liverpool were guilty of playing it safe in the second half but West Brom were clearly struggling to create any real chances.
Fernando Torres made a brief appearance late in the second half with the Spanish striker replacing Keane after a gap of six games. Liverpool wrapped up the points with a third goal through a brilliant curling shot from Arbeloa in the final minute of the game.
