Liverpool 3-0 Bolton Wanderers

Liverpool maintained their position at the top of the Premier League table with a convincing 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Friday.

Alberto Riera put Liverpool in a first half lead with a goal in the 26th minute while Robbie Keane scored a brace in the second half to take his tally to 3 goals in last two matches. Having drawn their last three home matches, Liverpool started the game on the attack but it was Bolton who created the first real chance of the match as early as in the opening minute with Kevin Nolan going close to breaking the deadlock.

Liverpool recovered and dominated the possession from then on with Jussi Jaaskelainen kept busy in the Bolton goal as Keane, Riera, Dirk Kuyt and Emiliano Insua all going close. The hosts finally got a deserved lead in the 26th minute when Riera volleyed home Steven Gerrard's corner from close range.

Keane scored his second goal in as many games as he latched on to a brilliant goal from Gerrard before slotting it past Jaaskelainen to double the lead in the 53rd minute.

The game was over five minutes later as Keane scored his fifth goal for Liverpool with a brilliant team goal that saw Riera, Alonso and Benayoun involved in the build up with the former West Ham winger squaring the ball for Keane to poke in from close range.
