Ivory Coast 3-1 GhanaGervinho 22 Gyan (pen) 90 + 3 Tiene 66 Drogba 90 + 1 Cote D’Ivoire became the first confirmed African Nations Cup quarter-finalists with their first win, over tournament debutants Ghana. Gervinho finished off a slick three-man move to give the Elephants a 22nd minute lead. Emmanuel Eboue was dismissed for a horrible two-footed tackle on 55 minutes. And Ghana’s Matthew Amoah hit the post a minute later. But Siaka Tiene’s brilliant 25-yard free-kick and Didier Drogba’s powerful header sealed victory for the ten men before Asamoah Gyan’s converted a penalty for the Black Stars after Souleman Bamba had fouled him.
