Hull City 2-1 Fulham

Hull City got their first Premiership campaign off to a dream start as they registered a shock 2-1 victory over Fulham at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

Fulham looked on course for a comfortable victory after taking an early lead through Seol Ki-Hyeon's header in the 8th minute but Hull equalized through Geovanni midway through the first half while Caleb Folan grabbed the winner nine minutes from full time.

Fulham almost took the lead soon after kick off but Simon Davies saw his volleyed shot fly wide of the goal after being put clear by a brilliant cross from Seol Ki-Hyeon. Hull nearly made them pay for the missed chance minutes later but Mark Schwarzer pulled off a stunning save to deny Geovanni.

Fulham scored the first goal of the new Premiership season thanks to some poor defending by Hull who failed to close down Jimmy Bullard in time, allowing the midfielder to pick up Seol Ki-Hyeon with a great cross and the South Korean international made no mistake with his header.

The visitors came close to doubling the lead but Zoltan Gera was unable to connect his volley as Bullard was running havoc on the flanks. Just when it looked as if Fulham would run away with the game, Hull equalized through a brilliant goal by Geovanni whose curled shot flew past Schwarzer and into the net.

Hull slowly took control of the game in the second half and though Fulham could have retaken the lead through Gera, it was Folan who scored the winning goal in the 81st minute after some poor defending by Konchesky allowing Fagan to cross the ball to the former Wigan Athletic striker who made no mistake from close range.
