Fulham 1-2 Tottenham Kamara 30 Pavlyuchenko 31
Huddlestone 64 A controversial long-range strike by midfielder Tom Huddlestone gave Spurs a come-from-behind victory against previously unbeaten EPL draw specialists Fulham. Huddlestone drove a low long-range effort through a cluster of players on 64 minutes and the ball flew into the net past Spurs defender William Gallas, who was flagged offside. However, after consulting his assistant, referee Mike Dean gave the goal, ruling that Gallas was inactive and out of Fulham keeper marc Schwarzer’s line of sight. Spurs were also fortunate to be level after an opening 45 minutes largely dominated by the Cottagers. Diomansy Kamara, in his first EPL start for nearly a year, headed over the best of Fulham’s early chances when unmarked from a Simon Davies corner. But he made amends on the half-hour when he was left unmarked again by Tottenham’s rearguard and side-footed home Clint Dempsey’s right-wing cross from the edge of the six-yard box. The lead lasted under a minute as Roman Pavlyuchenko netted the rebound after Rafael Van der Vaart’s delightful chip from 15 yards struck the crossbar. Tottenham were the better side after Huddlestone’s controversial goal but Kamara spurned the chance of a late equaliser, firing over another Davies cross from ten yards.
