Fulham 0-4 Manchester United

Manchester United's hopes of a clean sweep of domestic trophies received a big boost on Saturday as they thrashed a below par Fulham 4-0 to progress to the semi finals of the FA Cup.

Fulham matched their much illustrious opponents at the start of the game and at one point looked capable of pulling off an upset as United struggled to create any chances. However the visitors finally edged ahead in the 20th minute thanks to a defensive error in the Fulham penalty box as Paul Konchesky failed to deal with Wayne Rooney's flick on from a corner, leaving Carlos Tevez with a simple header from two yards out.

Rooney had a great chance to double the lead from a Ji Sung Park cross but his placed shot smashed against the cross bar. With Fulham looking to threaten an equalizer, Tevez then doubled the lead with a brilliant goal that saw him beat Dickson Etuhu before smashing home a curling shot that left Mark Schwarzer clutching at the air.

United completed the proceedings in the second half as Rooney made amends for his first half missed chance with a stinging drive form the edge of the area. The visitors were carving chances at their will as Fulham struggled to cope with United’s passing.

Park completed the rout in the 81st minute when he latched on to a poor clearance from Zoltan Gera before slotting the ball low past Schwarzer to help United qualify for their 26th FA Cup semi final clash.
