Everton 3-1 Manchester United
Bilyaletdinov 19 Berbatov 16
Two goals in the last fifteen minutes from young Everton substitutes Dan Gosling and Jack Rodwell saw off a below-par Manchester United.
The Toffees beat Chelsea at Goodison Park earlier this month. And they were good value here too, finishing strongly after falling behind early to a Dimitar Berbatov goal.
They were level within three minutes thanks to a terrific strike from Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.
And with the game was drifting towards a draw, some slack defending by Manchester United down their left flank allowed Steven Pienaar to set up Gosling.
Rodwell sealed matters on 90 minutes, consigning United to their sixth EPL defeat of the season.
United went ahead on 16 minutes, Dimitar Berbatov shooting in off the crossbar from eight yards after a fine Antonio Valencia cross.
Everton levelled three minutes later when Bilyaletdinov fired a left-foot drive past a static, unsighted Edwin Van der Sar.
A scrappy second half came alive when Everton went ahead on 75 minutes, Pienaar’s pull-back eluding everyone until Gosling diverted it home.
Wayne Rooney saw his well-struck 88th minute free-kick deflected narrowly wide.
But two minutes later, Rodwell sealed the points with a driving run at, and then past, Jonny Evans and perfect right-foot finish.
