Everton 1-1 ArsenalArsenal dropped more points in the race for the fourth place as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton in their Premier League match on Wednesday. David Moyes persisted with an almost unchanged side that had secured a determined 1-1 draw against Liverpool in the FA Cup with Marouane Fellaini and Mikel Arteta being the only changes to the lineup. Arsenal on the other hand made six changes to the squad after a disappointing 0-0 draw to Cardiff City but were unable to break past a stubborn Everton defense. Everton's best chance of the first half fell to Tim Cahill who was the first to reach Arteta's corner but was unable to hit the target from close range. Arsenal should have had taken the lead minutes into the second half when Robin Van Persie found Denilson with a great cross but the midfielder was wasteful with his effort. Cahill had another chance to break the deadlock but only managed to hit the side netting. It was not long before the hosts were celebrating a goal with Cahill scoring his 100th goal of his career, heading home Leighton Baines' cross in the 61st minute. Arsenal stepped up the pressure in search of an equalizer but it was Cahill who came closest to scoring a second goal when his long range effort was saved by Manuel Almunia. Just when it looked as if Everton had snatched a shock win, Arsenal managed to equalize in injury time when Van Persie latched on to Abu Diaby's cross before slotting it past Tim Howard to collect a point for his side.
