England 6-0 Andorra

England fans turned up in large numbers as they defied the Tube strike and the national team lead by the superb Wayne Rooney did not disappoint the 58,000 fans on Wednesday. A fourth-minute header from Rooney set the stage for a rout and any hopes Andorra might have entertained evaporated that minute.

Rooney added a third in the 39th minute when he latched onto Glen Johnson's cross and volleyed home.

The 3-0 score line at the interval was signal that England boss Fabio Capello could bring on some untried players and he took full advantage of this as he sent in Ashley Young and Jermaine Defoe at the break. On 63 minutes Ashley Cole was replaced by Wayne Bridge.

Defoe made full use of this chance ion the 73rd minute when he headed in England's fourth goal of the night. Three minutes later he was on hand to slot home after Andorra keeper Koldo Alvarez was unable to collect David Beckham's free-kick in a clean manner.

On 81 minutes, Peter Crouch bundled in England's sixth goal and finished the night in a magnificent manner. England thus have one leg in the plane to South Africa with seven wins out of seven games so far.
