Holders Egypt advanced to the final after a predictably controversial encounter with Algeria, who had three players sent-off.

Egypt went through a 38^th minute penalty after Rafik Halliche brought down Emad Motaeb and received a second yellow card.

Rabou Hosni dispatched the penalty after halting during his run-up. Keeper Fawzi Chaouchi chased and manhandled the referee in protest but was only booked.

Mohamed Zidan made it 2-0 on 65 minutes before Nadir Belhadj saw red for a horrible two-footed lunge.

Substitutes Mohamed Abdelshafi and Mohamed Gedo completed the scoring while Chaouchi eventually got sent-off late on.
