Egypt 1-0 AlgeriaGedo 85 Mohamed Gedo’s 85th minute strike gave Egypt a record-breaking third African Nations Cup title in-a-row and gave him the unlikely distinction of being the tournament’s top scorer without starting a match. His fifth goal of the tournament broke the young Black Stars’ hearts after the underdogs had had their best spell of a tight match. Much-pilloried striker Asamoah Gyan came increasingly close with three long-range efforts before Gedo and Mohamed Zidan played a slick one-two on the edge of the box and the substitute curled a sublime right-foot shot past Ghanaian keeper Richard Kingson’s left-hand to gain victory over Algeria.
