Two terrific first-half free-kicks set Japan on their way to the last 16, Keisuke Honda and Yasuhito Endo scoring from 40 and 20 yards respectively.

Jon-Dahl Tomasson pulled a goal back for Denmark from a penalty rebound. But Honda unselfishly set up Shinji Okazaki to complete the scoring late on.
