England won an entertaining friendly against Denmark in Copenhagen thanks to substitute Ashley Young’s 68th-minute strike.

The game was played under the Parken Stadium roof, preparing England for a similar experience in next month’s Euro 2012 qualifier in Wales.

And Fabio Capello’s men will go to Wales on the back of a confidence-building come-from-behind win.

Daniel Agger headed the Danes into an eighth-minute lead from Christian Eriksen’s right-wing cross. But England levelled two minutes later, Darren Bent tapping-in Theo Walcott’s low ball from the right.

Eriksen’s low left-footer from 20 yards struck the inside of England keeper Joe Hart’s left-hand post on 34 minutes. And four minutes later, Hart blocked Dennis Rommedahl’s right-foot shot with his outstretched right leg.

England were on top after half-time, however. Keeper Thomas Sorensen smothered a 51st-minute Bent header and Bent was wide with a left-foot drive from James Milner’s clever pass five minutes later.

Rommedahl’s low right-foot shot from a clever back-heel by Eriksen was well saved low to his right by Hart on 64 minutes.

And England’s winner came four minutes later. Glen Johnson robbed Michael Krohn-Dehli and squared the ball for Ashley Young to finish with a low right-footer inside Sorensen’s left-hand upright.
