Coventry City 0-2 ChelseaChelsea booked their place in the semi finals of the FA Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win over Coventry City in their sixth round clash on Saturday. Coventry were looking to improve on their last season's fifth round finish in the tournament but were on the back foot right from the kick off with Didier Drogba almost scoring in the 3rd minute when he held off a challenge Ben Turner but was unable to hit the target. However he did not have to wait long for the goal with the Ivory Coast striker putting Chelsea ahead in the 14th minute when he latched on to a poor clearance from Scott Dann, beat keeper Kieran Westwood before slotting the ball into an empty net. Coventry tried to stage a comeback in the second half but though they enjoyed a majority of the possession they were unable to hit their shots on target. Instead it was Chelsea who looked more likely to scoring a second with Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard going close to hitting the back of the net. With the hosts pressing forward, Chelsea hit them on the counter when Ricardo Quaresma curled a searching cross inside the penalty area and Alex made no mistake from close range to put the result beyond Coventry's reach and book a place in the semi finals of the tournament.
