Chelsea 2-0 Blackburn RoversGuus Hiddink's final match at Stamford Bridge as the Chelsea manager ended in a comfortable 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on Sunday. With Liverpool playing against West Bromwich Albion on the same day, Chelsea were keen to take advantage of any slip ups and climb to second in the league table with a win. And the match started in a perfect fashion for the Blues as they raced to the lead by the 4th minute after Florent Malouda headed home Nicolas Anelka's cross from the right flank. Blackburn almost put up a perfect response as Morten Gamst Pedersen shot straight to Petr Cech while Ryan Nelsen narrowly headed over from close range. Anelka had a great chance to double the lead but his effort was saved superbly by Paul Robinson with his feet but had to take some help from the crossbar to deny a stinging drive from Frank Lampard. Christopher Samba had a great chance to pull Blackburn back on level terms but was unable to hit the target with his header after El-Hadji Diouf had done well to find the defender. Malouda had another chance to double the lead and had done enough after chipping the ball over Robinson only for Nelsen to clear it off the line. The frantic action continued in the second half with Cech denying Stephen Warnock while Malouda hit straight to Robinson after latching on to Lampard's cross. The Blues finally scored a deserved second goal when Ashley Cole crossed the ball for Anelka to convert from the edge of the area leaving Blackburn with an impossible task to do in the final half hour of the game.
