Cameroon 1-3 EgyptEmana 26 Hassan 37, 94 Gedo 92 Holders Egypt advanced to a semi-final rematch with World Cup conquerors Algeria after an entertaining but error-strewn match. The biggest error came from the referee’s assistant who allowed Egypt’s third goal, an Ahmed Hassan free-kick which keeper Carlos Kameni pushed onto the post, the ball landing on, not over, the line. Achille Emana’s 26th minute corner put Cameroon one-up. Hassan equalised eleven minutes later with a 30-yard effort that Kameni should have saved. And early in extra-time, Egypt substitute Mohamed Gedo intercepted Geremi’s awful back pass and fired past Kameni.
