Brazil 3-0 ChileJuan 34 Luis Fabiano 38 Robinho 59 Brazil saw off a plucky Chilean challenge with a display of authority, solidity and skill in Johannesburg’s Ellis Park. Chile finished a point behind Brazil as runners-up in South America’s qualifying competition. But the gap was wider than that in this game. And after Brazil scored twice in four first-half minutes the result was never in doubt. Both sides were lively early on. But Brazil carried the greater goal threat and took the lead through Juan’s towering header from Maicon’s right-wing corner. They soon doubled their advantage as Robinho and Kaka combined skilfully to set up Luis Fabiano, who went round Chilean keeper Claudio Bravo and slid the ball into an empty net. Victory was assured when Ramires picked the ball up on the halfway line and ran through the Chilean midfield before neatly laying it off to Robinho, who coolly side-footed his shot into the corner of the net.
