Bolton 1-1 Tottenham

Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur were involved in a drab 1-1 draw at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday. The result does not do any good to either team as they continue to hover near the relegation zone in the Premier League table.

Tottenham boss Martin Jol would have been happy to see the spirit shown by his side in the beginning of the game as they attacked the Bolton goal with intent. Ivan Campo was brought back to the starting line-up by Bolton manager Sammy Lee for the first time this season and the move looked to have paid off as Campo was kept busy for most of the first half.

Campo was also involved in the first attack of the game sending through a beautiful ball to Kevin Davies in the fifth minute. However before Davies could sent the ball goal ward, Michael Dawson sent out a hurried clearance from the box.

Robbie Keane then sent through a nice ball to Dimitar Berbatov in the 26th minute, but again the deadlock was not broken. However Spurs took the lead soon after with Keane collecting a rebound off Campo who was unable to clear a save from Jaaskelainen. The latter had only parried Jermaine Jenas' close-range effort in the 33rd minute.

The ball broke to Keane who made no mistake. However Campo made amends for his mistake early on as he equalized with a header from a free-kick from El-Hadji Diouf in the 38th minute. Although both teams tried hard thereafter they were unable to take the lead. Keane came close late on in the 86th minute, but before that Malbranque had also come close in the 61st minute. Both men were however unable to find the target.

Bolton occupy the 19th position on the table with four points from seven games, while Tottenham are one spot ahead with 5 points from seven games.
