Bolton 0-0 West BromBolton Wanderers were lucky to come away with a draw at Reebok Stadium against Premiership new boys West Bromwich Albion last weekend. The Trotters fought hard for the 0-0 draw, but West Brom could have clinched an upset win had their finishing skills been up to the mark.
Bolton manager Gary Megson had four first team members missing and would have been delighted to have escaped with a draw. The first half of the game was dire with very few chances created and neither goalkeeper was tested in any way.
Ishmael Miller was guilty of missing two terrific chances to give his side the first three points in this Premier League campaign. Borja Valero, the new signing at West Brom was the player who showed the most creative flair in the first 45 minutes.
James Morrison tested Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, who easily foiled his attempt. It was only in the second half that the rather tepid game came to life with Miller finding himself in space with only Jaaskelainen to beat.
However he was unable to overcome the keeper and West Brom fans were left disappointed. Bolton had their own chance with a Mustapha Riga free-kick, which was easily saved by Scot Carson.
Nolan had a free header in the closing 15 minutes, but he was unable to direct it properly. For West Brom, Kim had another chances when his 30-yard drive rebounded off the underside off the cross-bar.
Miller then had a chance to seal the game late on but his header was weak and was directed straight at Jaaskelainen.
