Blackburn Rovers 1-1 FulhamFulham maintained hopes of staging a late revival in form as they held Blackburn Rovers to a 1-1 draw in their live Premiership encounter on Saturday.
Blackburn dominated the possession and chances for large portions of the game and took a deserved lead in the 59th minute through Morten Gamst Pedersen. Just when it looked like Blackburn were heading for a comfortable victory, Jimmy Bullard once again came to Fulham's rescue late in the game by grabbing the equalizer a minute from the full time whistle.
Fulham predictably started the game on the defensive, happy to sit back and soak up the pressure on a wet surface. Even with not much attacking intent shown by the visitors, Blackburn struggled to create chances with sloppy passes and poor finishing contributing to a dull first half.
The game sprung to life 14 minutes into the second half when Pedersen raced forward to head home Jason Roberts' looping cross from the right to put his side in the lead. Eddie Johnson came close to restoring parity minutes later when his rising drive smashed against the post.
Blackburn tried to up the tempo as first Pedersen and then David Bentley came close to doubling the lead but were unable to hit the back of the net. The hosts were made to rue the missed chances in the 89th minute when Bullard's free kick rose over the Blackburn wall before curling into the top corner to snatch a vital point for Roy Hodgson's side.
