Blackburn Rovers 2-2 Bolton WanderersA superb fight back from Blackburn Rovers saw them pull back from two goals down to snatch a point against Bolton Wanderers in their Premier League encounter on Wednesday. Keen to end their four match losing streak, Bolton dominated the first half and were soon in the lead when Matthew Taylor latched on to Ariza Makukula's mishit to slot home at the far post in the 15th minute. The visitors had a penalty appeal turned down by referee Mike Dean when an overhead kick by Makukula hit Christopher Samba's arm but there was no intent from the Blackburn defender. Bolton doubled the lead in the 34th minute when Kevin Nolan flicked on Gretar Steinsson's cross into the path of Kevin Davies and the Bolton midfielder made no mistake from close range. Blackburn stepped up the pressure in the second half and were rewarded in the 66th minute when Stephen Warnock smashed home from the edge of the area with Jussi Jaaskelainen failing to reach the ball in time. The Bolton keeper then pulled off a brilliant save to deny Brett Emerton from a free kick. The hosts should have had equalized five minutes later when Jaaskelainen was adjudged to have had fouled Roque Santa Cruz but the Bolton keeper made amends to his mistake by saving Benni McCarthy's penalty. However the South African striker was able to beat Jaaskelainen with just three minutes remaining on the clock, with Jason Roberts passing the ball to McCarthy who was left with a simple finish from close range to pull his side back on level terms.
