Blackburn Rovers 0-4 Arsenal

Blackburn Rovers suffered their second straight defeat after they were thrashed 4-0 by Arsenal in their Premiership meeting on Saturday.

Theo Walcott put up yet another eye catching performance as he went on a solo run to beat three Blackburn defenders before passing the ball to Robin Van Persie to prod in Arsenal's first goal of the match. Emmanuel Adebayor scored his first hat trick of this season in the second half as Arsenal notched up their third win in four matches.

All eyes were on Walcott at the start of the match with the Arsenal striker scoring a hat trick against Croatia in mid week. The 19-year old did not disappoint the crowd as he cut in past three defenders from the left flank before passing the ball to Van Persie who made no mistake from close range.

Walcott and Van Persie linked up once again midway through the first half but the Dutch striker was only able to hit the side netting this time around. Arsenal were completely dominating the proceedings and doubled the lead on the stroke of half time when Adebayor headed home Denilson's cross from the left flank.

Arsenal continued to create chances in the second half with Paul Robinson pulling off great saves to deny Walcott, Eboue and Kolo Toure. With nine minutes remaining, Arsenal were rewarded with a fortuitous penalty after Eboue's theatrical fall under Stephen Warnock's tackle and Adebayor made no mistake from the spot.

The Togo striker scored his hat trick in injury time, racing forward to meet a great ball by debutant Aaron Ramsey, rounding Robinson before passing the ball into an empty net.
