Blackburn 1-1 HullHull City battled back to hold Blackburn to a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park to maintain a clean slate in their maiden Premiership campaign. Hull, who beat Fulham in their opening encounter, were enterprising and were threatening for most of the game.
Steven Reid had Blackburn's first shot of the game on 10 minutes when he rifled in a low drive. However Myhill had an easy save to make after the ball took a slight deflection. Morten Gamst Pedersen then had a chance to put the Rovers ahead, but his shot from 20 yards out was just wide.
In the 39th minute Rovers striker Jason Roberts put his side ahead after Reid's long ball from halfway found him unmarked. The Hull defence looked for an offside flag, which never materialized, and Roberts coolly slotted home.
However Hull equalized almost immediately with Fagan cutting inside from the right and passing onto Garcia's head with a left-footed cross. Garcia's header beat Robinson all ends up although the Blackburn defence again looked for an offside.
Brett Emerton replaced David Dunn at the break for the Rovers. After 57 minutes the home side nearly took the lead once again after Roberts found himself in space. However Anthony Gardner blocked superbly to keep his side in the game.
Bernard Mendy replaced Andy Dawson, while Caleb Folan replaced Geovanni as Hull made a double change in the space of minutes. However despite pressure from both sets of attackers, the score remained deadlocked at the end. Tags: Hull City, Blackburn, Steven Reid, Geovanni Posted: |
