Turkish side Kayseri Erciyesspor found out how difficult European football is compared to domestic league football as they succumbed to 4 goals from the Spanish Intertoto Cup winning side.

Atletico Madrid looked very comfortable as they dominated the live football match through goals from Mista and Forlan in the first half and a late double by Snaz Luis Garcia. Erciyesspor had their best chance just after the break but midfielder Kamil Sener missed the target when his opportunity came. The Turkish side were made to pay even more late in the half as the Madrid midfielders Maniche and Garcia combined to score in the 83^rd minute and also again in injury time to leave themselves firm favourites to progress through to the group stages of the UEFA Cup.
