Aston Villa 1-1 Manchester City

Manchester City's poor away form continued as they managed to hold Aston Villa to a 1-1 draw in their English Premier League match on Saturday.

Villa enjoyed the majority of the chances and though they went behind in the 11th minute when Rolando Bianchi scored for Man City, the hosts equalized three minutes later thanks to a great goal by John Carew. Villa should have had taken all three points from the match as they laid siege on their opponents goal but will be disappointed not to have converted the number of chances that came their way.

After a quite opening few minutes, City took the lead when Martin Petrov curled in a brilliant cross from the left flank and Bianchi was left with a simple finish from 8 yards out. However the joy was short lived for the travelling fans as Villa were back on level terms in the 14th minute when Carew was played in by a great pass by Bouma and the Norwegian striker raced past the City defense before smashing the ball past Hart.

Aston Villa dominated the chances and came very close to taking the lead when Ashley Young found Agbonlahor from the corner but the striker was unable to connect his shot properly and the ball was cleared off the line by Elano.

Both the teams struggled to create any real chances in the second half as Man City were happy to sit back and soak up the pressure. Villa had a great chance to grab a late winner with Agbonlahor racing behind the City defense but Hart was alert to the danger and rushed forward to prevent the shot.
