Arsenal 5-0 PortoBendtner 10, 25, 90 + 1(pen) Nasri 63, Eboue 66 Arsenal swept into the Champions League quarter-finals with a convincing display against hapless Porto at the Emirates. Apart from a short spell after half-time, the Gunners were completely dominant. And Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner banished memories of a profligate weekend display against Burnley in the EPL with his first hat-trick in senior football. Arsenal made an electrifying start and Bendtner gave them a 10th minute lead when he slid the loose ball home after a goalbound Andrei Arshavin had been tackled on the edge of the penalty area. The same combination doubled Arsenal’s advantage on 25 minutes, Bendtner tapping-in after Andrei Arshavin’s incisive run and cross from the left. Having weathered a mini-storm in a sloppy quarter-hour after half-time, Arsenal clinched the tie with two wonder goals in three minutes. Samr Nasri wove through three tackles before firing a right-foot shot in off the post from a tight angle. And Arshavin led a lightning break from a Porto corner before supplying the perfect pass for Emmanuel Eboue to round Brazilian keeper Helton and slide home a left-foot shot. Eboue was hauled down in the box in the last minute, allowing Bendtner to complete the scoring, and his hat-trick, from the spot.
