Arsenal 4-4 Tottenham Hotspur

A brilliant come back from Tottenham Hotspur in the second half saw them hold Arsenal to a thrilling 4-4 draw in their Premier League encounter on Wednesday.

Arsenal looked on course for a comfortable victory after recovering well from an early David Bentley goal to take a 3-1 lead thanks to goals from Mikel Silvestre, William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor. Darren Bent reduced the deficit in the 67th minute but Robin Van Persie restored Arsenal's two goal advantage a minute later before late goals from Jermaine Jenas and Aaron Lennon ensured that Spurs left the Emirates Stadium with at least a point.

Having secured their first win of the season against Bolton last weekend, Tottenham started the game brightly and were soon in the front thanks to a brilliant goal by Bentley whose long range effort lobbed over keeper Manuel Almunia's head and into the goal.

Arsenal settled down to create a number of chances before finally equalizing in the 37th minute when another rash decision by Spurs' keeper Heurelho Gomes allowed Silvestre to head home Fabregas' corner to score his first goal for the Gunners.

William Gallas soon put Arsenal in the lead a minute into the second half from another set piece, this time Van Persie turning the provider from a free kick. Gomes was at fault yet again for Arsenal's third goal as Samir Nasri lobbed the ball over the Brazilian keeper and Adebayor tapped home into an empty net.

Two goals in two minutes from either team first saw Bent reduce the deficit for Spurs before Van Persie scored a fourth for Arsenal in the 68th minute. Just when it looked like a comfortable victory for Arsenal, Jenas gave the visitors some hope in the 89th minute with a great strike from outside the area before Lennon ended the game on a dramatic note by equalizing in the injury time to snatch a point for his side.
