Arsenal 4-0 Blackburn RoversA brilliant attacking display from Arsenal saw them climb back into the top four of the Premier League table with a convincing 4-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. Having closed down the gap in the race for the fourth place to just three points, Arsenal were keen to put more pressure on Aston Villa and could not have wished for a better start as they took the lead in the 2nd minute when Andre Ooijer deflected Theo Walcott's cross into his own net. Arsenal then wasted a number of chances with Samir Nasri going the closest in the first half when his free kick smashed against the post. The hosts stepped up the pressure in the second half with Nicklas Bendtner missing a golden chance to double the lead from just 10 yards out. The Danish striker missed another great chance when he was played through by a superb pass but was unable to convert with just Paul Robinson to beat. Walcott then saw his shot fly wide of the target while Bendtner was once again guilty of missing an easy chance when he opted for power and shooting well wide of the target. Andrey Arshavin finally calmed the nerves with a brilliant individual effort that saw him beat Danny Simpson before slotting the ball past Paul Robinson. Arshavin came close to scoring a second goal two minutes from the final whistle but though Robinson managed to block his shot, Emmanuel Eboue was at hand to convert from a simple tap in before completing the rout with a second from the penalty spot.
