Arsenal 3-0 BurnleyBurnley were unable to cause another cup upset in the FA Cup as Arsenal cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win to book their place in the quarter finals against Hull City. Having already dumped out three Premier League teams from the Carling Cup, Burnley were looking to repeat their performance against Arsenal from that competition but were unable to put up a fight against their opponents as the Gunners stepped up the attacks right from the kick off. Andrey Arshavin and Carlos Vela were looking dangerous up front and the two linked up well in the 24th minute to give Arsenal the lead. The Russian midfielder played Vela in with a great ball and the 20-year old comfortable raced past Clarke Carlisle before chipping the ball over Brian Jensen to put his side in front. Vela had a great chance to double the lead as did Eduardo but the Burnley defense somehow managed to end the half just one goal behind. However the Gunners scored a deserved second goal five minutes into the second half when Alexandre Song chipped in a ball over the Burnley defense and Eduardo volleyed home the chance from a tight angle. Eduardo came close to grabbing his second but somehow managed to miss the target from eight yards out. With time running out, Arsenal completed the proceedings in the 84th minute when Song played in Emmanuel Eboue and the midfielder made no mistake from close range to help Arsenal secure a comfortable victory.
