Arsenal 2-1 Fulham

                                                                                      Nasri 14, 75       Kamara 30

Two goals of majestic quality from French midfielder Samr Nasri saw nervous Arsenal inch past London rivals Fulham at the Emirates to go top of the EPL.

They dominated the opening quarter, and one goal seemed scant reward for their play, especially when Diomansy Kamara equalised on the half-hour.

And Nasri’s superb winner came when Fulham were threatening to snatch victory.

Nasri squandered an early chance when he latched onto Andrei Arshavin’s through ball but toe-poked his shot wide.

But he gave the Gunners a 14th-minute lead when he danced inside two defenders in the penalty area and lashed a left-foot shot high into the net.

Fulham keeper Marc Schwarzer prevented a Dickson Etuhu own goal, and Alexandre Song volleyed a fine opportunity wide.

But the visitors levelled when Diomansy Kamara slotted Clint Dempsey’s pass past Arsenal keeper Lukasz Fabianski after Arsenal’s central defenders clashed heads.

Kamara fired a similar chance at Fabianski before half-time. And Zoltan Gera’s 70th-minute header was cleared off the line by Robin Van Persie.

But Nasri won the game five minutes later, picking up Van Persie’s pass, rounding two defenders and the keeper before netting a right-foot shot on the turn from a tight angle.
