A goalless draw at Emirates Stadium last weekend at the hands of West Ham United further deepened the doom and gloom being experienced by Gunners fans this season.

Emmanuel Adebayor missed a couple of good chances to seal the game for Arsenal, while Abou Diaby's early headed crashed against the crossbar. Nicklas Bendtner then had a chance to put the ball into the net from a close range, but he was unable to connect.

Emmanuel Eboue tangled with Scott Parker and was replaced by Carlos Vela on 35 minutes. For West Ham James Collins had a chance when he found himself free of a marker, but his header was cleared by Gael Clichy.

Following the restart, the Gunners pressed for a vital goal, but were frustrated by a disciplined effort from Gianfranco Zola's men. Bacary Sagna was then released as Arsenal went on the counter attack. Sagna's cross found Adebayor in the clear, but the Togo striker headed the ball wide.

Robin Van Persie replaced Bendtner with just 20 minutes left on the clock, but even he was unable to break a resolute Hammers defense. Luis Boa Morte came on for David Di Michele as Zola's men closed down all fronts to deny the Gunners any chance of sneaking a late goal and collecting all three points.
