‘Bribe’ To Be Looked At By The FA
Claims that a former Premier League football player threw a football match and made £50,000 from it are to be investigated by the FA. During a football match the player in question got sent off and asked three of his team-mates to get yellow cards. The match happened in the last two years and was played in Britain. Under strict FA rules footballer’s are not allowed to bet on any matches they are involved in. This news came about during a meeting for gambling addicts at Sporting Chance Clinic during the week. The clinic helps players who have addictions to drugs, drinking and gambling and has being given approval by the FA and the PFA. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has called for any player who has thrown a match or accepted bribes should be banned from playing professional football for life. An FA spokesperson said that inquiries will be made over the next few days over the allegations. If the game was in England then we will take action, but we firstly need to find out which part of Britain the game was held in before taking any more action.
