Wolves Goalless But Not Pointless

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy was pleased to secure a point at Molineux against David Moyes’ impressive Everton side. With Hull City winning, the pressure remains on but the former Eire boss is still in positive mood.

“I’m delighted with a point, I’d have taken that before. They are as good as anything that has been here” he said after the nil-nil draw. The blank scoreline was largely thanks to another huge display from keeper Marcus Hahnemann who drew praise from his manager. He was terrific, he has been since getting into the side” continued McCarthy. However, his praise was not reserved solely for the American and the rest of his squad all put in a shift. “Workmanlike” was how McCarthy described the performance against a Toffee’s side challenging for a European spot. The man in the Molineux hot seat now knows his team will put in all the effort needed no matter who the opposition. “We have our moments of quality and we will certainly battle it out with everybody out there” he said.

With only a five point gap between themselves and the relegation zone, Wolves will probably need to battle all the way to the end if the season.
