The transfer window always allows rumours to surface but many of them can be either mischievous or malicious. Wigan manager Roberto Martinez is hopping mad about the latter with  the subject.

 

Reports indicated that the player had gone on strike hoping to secure a move but Martinez was quick to jump on what he sees as agent-inspired gossip. "In the window there is a lot of talk and speculation, and it is a great moment for the authorities to look into how much we need it," Martinez said. “One of my players has been surrounded by a lot of speculation and stories about him going away. Unhappy is not the right word. I'm disgusted.”

The Spaniard went on to express his displeasure at the extent of influence that agents have on the modern game and wants the authorities to investigate their role in such instances.
