Wigan Chase Colombian ForwardColombian international Hugo Rodallega could be a Wigan player next week if he can secure a work permit. ![]() The £4.5M signing from Mexican outfit Necaxa scored 15 goals last season and has both presence at over 6ft and an all-round goal-scoring reputation. No doubt Steve Bruce will be hoping that he adapts to English football fairly quickly as both Emile Heskey and Henri Camara are out of contract at the end of the season and have been linked with moves away. The player himself is confident that he fits the bill and has compared Wigan’s style of play to that of some Mexican clubs which may be both good and bad news for Wigan fans. Previous Colombian imports have seen varying degrees of success with names such as Juan Pablo Angel, Hamilton Ricard and Faustino Asprilla amongst them. The Latics need Rodallega to produce, especially if their two main sources of goals may soon be plying their trade elsewhere.
