West Ham v ChelseaAn excellent show by Chelsea as they thrashed West Ham 4-1. This win puts Chelsea back to 3 points behind Manchester United in the English Premier League and continues the build up to the end of the season. It took the champions 31 minutes to claim their first goal but after that the flood gates opened. Shaun Wright Phillips opened the scoring with a beautiful goal to give Chelsea the lead. There was a reply in the 35th minute with Carlos Tevez raising hopes but these were quickly dashed by Wright Phillips claiming a second before half time. In the second half the organisation and technical brilliance of Chelsea shone through with a 52nd minute easy tap in from Kalou to make it 3-1. The scoreline wrapped up in the 62nd minute with Didier Drogba, who went easily past the defence and crushed the home supporters. This result means that Chelsea keep the pressure on leaders Man Utd in the build up to the showdown on May 9th.
