Wesley Looking Forward to Week Two

Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder is hopeful that the South African World Cup will spring into life now that everyone is settling down and getting used to the altitude and the ball.

“So far the favourites didn’t show what they are capable of and only Germany really impressed” said the Inter Milan player, “I think everyone has to get used to the circumstances, like the ball and altitude, and it all will start from now on.”

Netherlands keeper Michel Vorm was sent home this week, but for a good reason. His wife gave birth to their first child on Sunday but after joining the squad for their victory over Denmark, coach Bert van Marwijk told the player to go home for a few days to be with his family. He will rejoin the squad in South Africa in tome for their next match.
