Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has announced that Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor will miss the next three weeks of the season because of injury. The striker sustained damage to his ankle and following tests has now been ruled out.

The injury comes at a bad time for the Gunners with crucial Premier League clashes against Manchester United and Chelsea looming over the next few weeks. Adebayor’s injury came in the second half of Arsenal’s recent 2-1 defeat against Stoke City.

Adebayor is sure to be missed. He is the club’s current top goal scorer with nine goals in all competitions.
